Other Kingdoms is a series of paintings that originate with my fascination with the intricate, overlooked worlds within forests and tidal pools. Based on macro-photographs taken during my explorations in the Ottawa Valley of Ontario and the Nicoya Penninsula of Costa Rica, these works reflect my curiosity about the small ecosystems thriving at the edges of perception. I approach these subjects not as a scientist, but as an observer drawn to colour, shape, texture, and reflection — to the quiet beauty that reveals itself when you look closely. My hope is that these paintings become meditations on wonder itself, reminders of the vibrant, interconnected life that surrounds us.
